Many of my clients come to therapy feeling anxious, or weighed down by trauma or chronic illness

True healing begins when you’re able to address the underlying causes of what you’re going through, not just the surface symptoms. Whether it’s long-held patterns of anxiety, your early life experiences, or unresolved emotional or attachment wounds, therapy can help bring these roots into awareness in a way that's safe, supportive, and provides you with a way to move forward.

Therapy isn’t only for processing the past. It can also be a powerful support for those living with chronic stress or chronic illness. When your body and mind are constantly under pressure, it can leave you feeling depleted, overwhelmed, or disconnected.  It’s also tiring having to navigate the emotional impact of illness while feeling like you’re constantly explaining your symptoms to others who don’t understand. In therapy, you’ll have a space to slow down, listen to your body and nervous system, and learn tools to better cope with the ongoing challenges of living with ongoing stress or chronic illness.

What therapy might look like

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, which is why I draw from different approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. Some of my clients choose to work with EMDR, a trauma therapy that can be very effective, though I only use it if it’s something you're interested in exploring. I've found EMDR to be great for processing the impact of complex trauma (C-PTSD), attachment wounds, or anxiety.

I also integrate other modalities such as Parts Work, DNMS, and Trauma-Focused ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), which combines mindfulness, values, and nervous system awareness to help create lasting change. For many people, gentle somatic and nervous system practices  (noticing how emotions show up in the body and learning ways to bring the nervous system back into balance) are an important part of healing.

The process of growth and healing doesn’t ask you to be perfect, only to show up and trust that even the smallest steps count. If you’re ready to take that next step, I invite you to schedule a free consultation to see if it's the right fit.
